Each year, the National Boards and Ahpra publish an agreement on health professions that defines the fees to be paid by physicians, the annual budget of the National Board and the services provided by Ahpra, which allow national boards of directors to perform their functions in accordance with national law. The guiding principles of national law require that the national system operate “in a transparent, accountable, effective, effective and equitable manner”; and for the adequacy of the registration fees “… to make the system more efficient and effective.” Under national law, boards of directors and ahPRA work in partnership to implement the national system, with specific roles, powers and responsibilities defined by national law.
